The Role of Resistivity on the Efficiency of Magnetic Reconnection in MHD

Between 2019 and 2021, Judit Pérez-Coll was a master student in SPPG. She investigated how different shapes and amplitudes of a resistive region affected the reconnection rate in MagnetoHydroDynamic (MHD) simulations. She published her results in the paper titled ‘The Role of Resistivity on the Efficiency of Magnetic Reconnection in MHD’ in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics. She also presented her results at the American Geophysical Union’s Fall Meeting. You can find her thesis here. She is currently pursuing her PhD degree in space physics at the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden.
