Partners

With a little help from our friends…

Our work a the SPPG would not be possible without the support of colleagues all over the world and infrastructure resources provided by organizations and agencies. Here we would like to highlight a few of our partners that make our work possible.

Magnetospheric MultiScale (MMS) team

The MMS instrument teams and Scientists-In-The-Loop has been delivering high-quality data to a broad scientific community since the launch of the spacecraft in 2015. The data is freely and publically available at the MMS Science Data Center.

Sigma2 AS

Sigma2 AS manages the national infrastructure for computational science in Norway and offers services in high performance computing and data storage. SPPG utlises the recources provided by Sigma2 to perform large-scale kinetic particle-in-cell simulations of magnetic reconnection.

Norges forskningsråd

Norges forskningsråd is the main funding agency supporting SPPG’s research activities related to magnetic reconnection and in situ spacecraft observations. We are currently funded through two projects:

  • What Makes Magnetic Reconnection Stop?
  • Why, how, and where do magnetic fields discharge?

European Space Agency

The European Space Agency (ESA) is funding our acitivity related to the Geomagnetic Expert Service Center (G-ESC).
